A film by Maya Gallus

2012

Synopsis

This dazzling portrait of one of the most famous and prolific woman writers of the 20th century recounts the extraordinary literary partnership between Mazo de la Roche, the author of Jalna and The Whiteoak Chronicles, and her lifelong companion, Caroline Clement. Featuring Severn Thompson in a stunning portrayal of Mazo de la Roche.

A co-production with The National Film Board of Canada, in association with Bravo!, TVOntario, Knowledge, CMF, Rogers Documentary Fund

β€œThe film is gorgeous to watch both for the story, which is quietly heartbreaking, but also for the visuals, and especially for Severn Thompson, who portrays de la Roche.”
