Cat City

2009/ one hour, documentary

For years, euthanizing unwanted cats has been seen as a viable solution to deal with cat overpopulation. Now cat rescue groups, shelter workers and humane societies alike are calling for a stop to the needless killing of healthy, adoptable animals and demanding humane alternatives.
This gritty and moving documentary takes the viewer to the frontlines of the cat overpopulation crisis, as these grassroots activists work to rescue these lost and abandoned animals. What does it tell us about our society when an animal becomes as disposable as a pop can?
